roots in
a
Rites-of-passage
program,
developed
by
John
McQueen
at
Brooklyn
Faith
S.D.A.
Church
in 1981.
By
1993,
its
not-for-profit
501(C)(3)
status
was
attained
and a
formal
Board of
Directors
was
established.
MISSION:
To
improve
the
quality
of life
for
at-risk
children
and
their
families
through
education,
training,
and
mentorship.
GOALS:

Identify the changing need of families within the community
and design programs to meet those needs through advocacy, individual
family and group counseling, workshops and seminars. |

To develop linkages with other agencies in order to help families
with vital matters such as education, health, economics, housing, and
social services. |

To avert improper foster care placement. |
